Valentine’s Family Session Downtown Kinston

Y’all, this sweet family totally stole mine and Jordan’s hearts. Leigh Ann and I together when I was full time but in separate offices. I loved seeing her name pop up on my phone and hearing her sweet voice again. It always made my day!

Jordan and I met Leigh Ann and her kiddos in downtown Kinston the weekend before Valentine’s Day. We explored Pearson Park and then headed down Herritage Street where we found the coolest brick wall that had been decorated with chalk hearts. So of course we had to snap a few shots there. We ended our session in the alleyway by Mother Earth brewery. We had such a blast hanging out with the Graham Family. Leigh Ann, Rebecca and I chatted up all things dance while Jordan and Luke bonded over Beyblades and Pokemon. Here are just a few of our favorites from their session.

ABOUT Jess

That longing to hold onto everyday magic is what led me to photography. I’m drawn to the little things that often go unnoticed—the way excitement shows up in a child’s eyes, the comfort of being close, the feeling of togetherness that turns ordinary days into meaningful memories. When I’m not photographing families, you’ll find me thrifting for treasures, reading a good book, embroidering something by hand, soaking up beach days, or heading off on small adventures with the people I love most.

I approach each session with care and intention, focusing on connection rather than perfection. My goal is to create images that feel honest, warm, and deeply personal—photographs that allow you to return to this season again and again, remembering not just what it looked like, but how it felt.

Rooted in motherhood and shaped by my own journey into parenthood, I’m endlessly inspired by the quiet beauty of family life. I love slow mornings at home with my family—the kind filled with soft light, small rituals, and the tiny moments that send my daughter into fits of belly laughter. Those are the moments I wish I could freeze in time, the ones that remind me how fleeting and beautiful this season truly is.
